The constant purr of a motor sounded in the background as the world rocked back and forth. Man that beer hit me harder than it should have. I tried to roll over but found myself stuck in one spot.

My hands were bound behind my back along with my feet were all tied up. I opened my eyes to see that the bed sheet was wrapped around my body and secured in place by heavy industrial rope.

This chick wasn’t messing around and probably knows more about the supernatural than I do. The only thing that I could move was my head so I glanced around and saw the interior of a speedboat. Somewhat new too.

Over near the front of the boat was the seat and Luna was sitting in it manning the controls. She didn’t have to look back when she said, “Bout time yer up kid. I’ll need your help to make sure things go smoothly.”

“Where are you taking me?” I yelled then grimaced as the boat took flight over a small wake. It skipped a few going up and down. Ugh if this keeps up then I’m going to puke.

Luna replied, “I’ve decided to not hand you over to him. Instead, if you work with me, I think we can get my friend back without you becoming his bounty for the witches.”

“Huh?” My brows rose. The motor of the boat hummed and whirred as we skipped over more wakes. I grumbled, “can you at least stop making the boat go over such rough waters?”

“Can’t.” She said still staring ahead then added, “the sea is rough tonight. Feels like we got a storm coming on.”

“Then why are you doing the exchange out at sea?” I asked.

Her hand moved over the throttle and pulled the lever up to slow the boat down. She leaned over the back of the chair with her elbow hanging over. She replied, “Easy. Home turf advantage.”

The bottom of my stomach dropped out as I realized what she was saying. We were on the Atlantic. Probably miles from shore. What’s worse is that I can’t even swim and based on the rumors that if you’re a werewolf then it doesn’t matter because we sink regardless.

“Take me back.” I groaned. The constant rolling of the boat tumbled my innards and I had to swallow hard to not throw up. Luna smirked turned back around in her seat and kept the boat going straight.

Overhead the dark clouds let the moon peek through revealing her ever full glory. Internally my wolf howled in delight as the rest of my mental state crumpled into a shivering heap. Tonight, why does it have to be tonight?
